Since 1964 the CRC has been responsible for the creation of numerous
programs for the community and run by the community. The CRC has
also intervened on behalf of the community in various areas of human
rights.
Housing has been a primary focus for the CRC. Through its Project Connect (a project that works with rooming house landlords,
tenants,
homeowners, and service providers) CRC participates in city-wide
working groups and coalitions to advocate to the various levels
of government
for
positive
change
in the affordable housing sector.
Food access and security and employment are some of the areas of
advocacy for the Centre. We are committed to working with networks
and coalitions to lobby for progressive public policies that will
have positive impact on the lives of the people with whom we work.
